Founded in 2013 by artist and educator, Sage Salvo, Words Liive endeavored to go out into classrooms and ‘reveal unexamined genius’ present throughout the US student population. Words Liive is a 21st Century education technology start-up intent on bringing three-fourths of US students to grade-level literacy by the year 2040. Our music-based literacy programs have brought teachers and students to tears in their classrooms. Our country averages only an approximate third of all students being able to read at grade-level. Basic literacy is the foundation of success in our economy which depends on higher-order skills. WordsLiive has developed the Culturally Responsive Pedagogy needed to meet the instructional demands for today’s classrooms. Today’s youth need to see themselves in their education to aspire to perform in school. We’ve created a patented platform that integrates song lyrics into students’ reading assignments via our "Real-Time” and On-demand Culturally Responsive digital platform.
Our core offerings allow:
1) Educators to rapidly build standards-aligned lessons that integrate music and media,
2) School Districts to get educators training in Culturally Responsive Pedagogy, and
3) Researchers to obtain customizable tools for their outreach and community partnerships.
